Graphic dimensions recommended by the portal: 1640×856 px (1.91:1 format)

Although Facebook displays group cover graphics at 820x462 px, it itself provides a recommended size that is almost twice as small. In my experience, the best size is 1640x923 px, where, thanks to the higher than default resolution, you end up with a sharper graphic that looks good on both mobile and desktop.

In the Facebook documentation, we can find two dimensions for square carousel images. Whenever you can (i.e. file size allows), use the larger one. The carousel will still scale to smaller squares, and using a higher resolution will give you better quality single graphics.
