Think tanks are institutions, corporations or organized groups that attempt to study a topic , usually political or scientific, in depth in order to provide information, ideas and advice to society in general or to a particular company. They do this by brokering ideas , stimulating political debate or offering creative and practical solutions to problems.

Chatham House
Founded in 1920 in London, it is also known as the Royal Institute of International Affairs. Its research involves governments, businesses and society to find out how global events affect all sectors. This think tank was voted " Think Tank of the Year" in 2016 by Prospect magazine .



French Institute of International Relations (IFRI)
It is dedicated to the analysis of international issues. It is the only French think tank that is among the 50 most influential in the world, outside the United States. The founder of this think tank is Thierry de Montbrial, a European expert in international relations.



In Spain, the best known are the Barcelona Center of International Affairs (Cidob) , the Institute of Economic Studies , the Institute for Studies on Conflicts and Humanitarian Action (IECAH) and the Aspen Institute Spain .
