What are the delivery and open rates of each tag?

Promotion
This is the tab where marketing emails such as the sales information and coupon information mentioned above are sorted. Email newsletters and HTML format emails from companies are mainly concentrated in this tab.

New Arrivals
This is the tab where new automatically generated emails sent to you are sorted. For example, notification emails such as confirmations, receipts, invoices, and statements are sorted into the New tab.

forum
This is a tab where emails shared within the hospital contact list Google Groups you belong to are sorted. Since emails within the group are not mixed with emails within the "Main" tab, this is a convenient tab for people who use Google Groups.

You can also mark emails that require a response or important emails that you want to check later with a badge called a "star," which acts like a bookmark (this may be done automatically). Emails with a star will be sorted into the "Main" tab regardless of their type.

For companies that conduct email marketing, such as newsletters and direct mail, the delivery rate and open rate of each tab are also important points to consider.

According to a survey published by Return Path, the delivery and open rates for each tab in Gmail are as follows:

tab
Delivery rate
Open rate
main
55.5%
22.0%
Social
87.2%
22.4%
Promotion
84.5%
19.2%
New Arrivals
86.6%
28.0%
forum
77.8%
21.1%

The point to note about the data above is that the reach rate for the "main tab," which is the most visible to users, is overwhelmingly low.

However, the introduction of the Promotions tab has reduced the risk of emails sent by companies being treated as spam.

Emails placed in the Promotions tab have the lowest open rate, but that doesn't necessarily mean that your email is significantly less likely to be read by users.
