The National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity begins work

The German National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity in Industry, Technology and Research ( NKCS ) has officially started its work. The federal ministries involved ( BMI , BMBF , BMWi and BMVg ) agreed to set up the NKCS as a joint cooperation platform with a central role for the BSI . The BSI is thus the central contact for the European Competence Center , the coordination centers of the other EU member states and the national cybersecurity community .

The basis for the establishment of the NKCS is EU Regulation 2021/887 . The aim of this regulation is to better coordinate investments in research, technology and industrial development in the field of cybersecurity across Europe. By setting up hong kong gambling data the NKCS, Germany is making its contribution to strengthening the European Union in the long term and ensuring that competitive cybersecurity solutions continue to be developed in Europe and offered worldwide. The focus is on broad participation of the European cybersecurity community in the EU funding programs "Horizon Europe" and "Digital Europe". A particular focus is on small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups .

BSI President Arne Schönbohm explains: "I am proud that the BSI is taking on the central role in the NKCS . Together with our partners, we will be the national contact point for research, business and society to promote innovations from Germany in cybersecurity and product development. In this way, Germany is making a significant contribution to digital sovereignty, innovative ideas and competitive products made in Europe ."
