Agreement on neighboring rights – Google and several French media outlets have signed an agreement to pay for excerpts from articles in the search engine. This agreement follows the decision of the competition authority on the consideration of copyright of online publications indexed in the search engine. But some French press groups are reluctant, like CMI France .

Several directors of French editorial offices are concerned about the “repeated desire of the Minister of the Interior to undermine freedom of information in the context of demonstrations” .
