Think AI is getting too much attention right now? A new report from Gartner suggests that the attention will only increase over the next two years — especially in the enterprise sector, ZDNet reports .

Since ChatGPT’s release nearly a year ago, generative AI (GenAI) has been on the rise, with companies developing or deploying AI models every day. Gartner’s new report, “2023 Hype Cycle for Generative AI,” shows that this growth will only increase in the coming years.

By 2026, the research firm predicts that 80% of enterprises will be using APIs (application programming interfaces) and generative AI models or developing their own. “Generative AI has become a top priority for business leaders and has driven tremendous innovation in new tools that go beyond basic models,” said Arun Chandrasekaran, distinguished vice president and analyst at Gartner.

The research firm has highlighted some of the innovations that are expected to have a huge impact on organizations over the next ten years, including GenAI-enabled applications, core models, and AI trust, risk and security management (AI TRiSM).

GenAI-enabled apps are those that use generative AI to solve specific problems. An example is ChatGPT, which uses AI to synthesize text queries and provide a response.

Organizations can use these applications to make work easier for employees within the company or to offer customers an experience that provides improved service and customer experience.
