But now, how do I advertise on Google Shopping?

Post by Fgjklf »

So far, we’ve learned more about the platform and its objectives, and now we’ll take a look at the step-by-step guide on how to advertise on Google Shopping. In order for products to be available, you need to activate a campaign. Let’s go!

Create a Google Ads account
As we mentioned above, Google Shopping is a Google Ads advertising modality, so the first step is to register.

Format your product feed
To include products in your ads, you need to create a feed, bank email list which is nothing more than an XML file with all the items in your store. Some versions already have the option to create this file. If your store does not offer this function, see how to create the file here .

Create a Merchant Center account
The next step is to get to know the Merchant Center, Google Ads' e-commerce tool. This is where the information will be stored in the XML file. To do this, you need to log in to the website with your Google account and perform the standard settings.

Now, the product feed goes into the Merchant Center, to do this, just click on “Products”, then on “Feeds” and then upload your XML file.

Link accounts
Remember that Google Ads account? Well, after registering for both accounts, you need to link them. To do this, go to the three-dot drop-down menu in the Google Merchant Center and click on “Account Linking” and then “Google Ads”. Enter your Google Ads account ID and add it! In case you don’t know, the Customer ID is located at the top of Google Ads.

Your Google campaign is live!
Now, let's create your Google Shopping campaign through Google Merchant Center itself. Here, go to “Google Ads settings” and then “create Shopping campaign”. You fill in some information such as campaign name, country of sale, cost-per-click bid, among others, all to target your ads.
