At the same time, the increase in productivity can still be estimated by the number of employees that would need to be involved in the same projects or tasks performed by full-time developers using generative software.

This number in the surveyed companies was 24 people in 2022, and almost twice as much in 2023 - 46 people. The forecast for 2024 is 60 specialists. In percentage terms, this number is 0.34% in 2022, 0.67% in 2023 and 1.08% in 2024.

Olesya Lachugina, Marketing Director of the Russian business application developer SL Soft (part of the Softline Group), is confident that the process cannot yet proceed without human participation: "An experienced programmer usually reviews the resulting code and corrects the inevitable errors. But the overall savings in labor costs are still significant - man-days and even man-months. Therefore, AI is already acting as a human "assistant" in many development companies. As for the creation of serious code from scratch, there are still many complaints about the quality of the code itself - an experienced programmer makes it better. There are also many complaints about the vulnerability of the code created by AI from the point of view of information security (IS). Therefore, almost always, revision is required from programmers and IS specialists. Like any AI assistant, generative AI can be considered an assistant, but not a replacement for a person."
