It won't be like before anymore

Deputy CEO of IVA Technologies Maxim Smirnov believes that it is easier for commercial companies than for state-owned companies to choose software to replace vendors that have left Russia. "While the level of readiness and digital independence in state-owned companies and organizations is quite high, commercial companies follow a more evolutionary path. Therefore, everything depends on who we are talking about - I have a more or less global cross-section of the entire market. But from the developer's point of view in the practical segment of communication systems, of course, our customers have a long way to go in terms of our systems. And even if a number of customers have implemented individual elements, individual systems in the field of unified communications today, an entire roadmap still needs to be implemented in terms of integration processes. And probably, in the coming years, this will be one of the key tasks in terms of our solutions and our technologies," Maxim Smirnov noted.

Alexey Kislov, Head of the croatia whatsapp resource ERP Practice Development Department at 1C, recalled that the company entered the software market more than 30 years ago, long before the import substitution trend, but now it is faced with the need to adapt functionality to the new needs of enterprises. "As practice shows, basic accounting tasks are certainly solved using software products that currently exist. However, if we go into a more specific, more industry-specific topic, then there is a fairly large reserve for developing the functionality of software products. And in my opinion, this kind of development should certainly be done together with user enterprises. Because the maximum industry expertise, no matter how we accumulate it within ourselves - the maximum information about the needs of the industry, about the methodology, about the possibilities, about the requirements - is only available to end users," Alexey Kislov emphasized.

Director of the Cloud.ru product office Maria Gracheva noted that, according to her estimates, about 80% of foreign software in various industries, such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, metallurgy, has already been replaced with Russian software, but the server equipment of many companies still runs on imported software. "We see this, as a rule, on the basis of server equipment and data centers, virtualization platforms. When customers come to us and say that we have already substituted imports and we literally have one sneeze left to change our platforms in data centers, but we need to do it the way it was before, only in our colors. And here we understand that first of all, the problem of high-quality and fast import substitution is based not so much on products, but sometimes on the inertia of the customers themselves. Therefore, we urge you to take a broader look at the capabilities of technological platforms from Russian developers, to understand that the way it was will probably not be, and maybe it will be when we start building ecosystems, start making friends and forming unified technological circles. But at the current moment, we need to take the maximum from the software developers market, look at the capabilities of cloud providers, who have made great strides forward over the past five years of their presence on the Russian market," Maria Gracheva emphasized.

VK Tech Managing Director Pavel Gontarev added that over the past year, the problem of import substitution of software has transformed into a task for industry companies, including in the oil and gas industry, to ensure stable, trouble-free and efficient operation in the new conditions in the absence of foreign suppliers.
