The first stationary complex for photo and video recording of pedestrian crossing control has been installed in St. Petersburg. So far, this is only a pilot project. This was reported by the press service of the city's Committee for Information Technology and Communications.

All information about traffic violations and passing vehicles from photo and video recording systems is transmitted to the Center for Automated Recording of Administrative Offenses in the Field of Road Traffic of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the City of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region (TsAFAP). Decisions on cases of administrative offenses are made by TsAFAP inspectors after reviewing the photo and video recording materials received from the systems.
