Adding Facebook-style autocomplete to WordPress posts

Post by Mostafa044 »

Do you like the autocomplete feature in Facebook that makes it easy to mention people, places and pages you want to tag? Wouldn't it be nice if you could mention your older articles with a simple @mention? In this article, we'll show you how to integrate Facebook-style autocomplete into your WordPress post editor.

The first thing you need to do is install and activate the Mentionable plugin . After activation, simply go to Settings » Mentionable to configure the plugin settings.

Settings page for Mentionable plugin

By default, the plugin is enabled for posts. You can enable it for pages, media attachments , and any other post types you want.

Once you've finished configuring the plugin, save your list of bulgaria cell phone number changes and head to the post editor to see it in action.

All you need to do is create a new post in WordPress or edit an existing one. Make sure you use the visual editor .

In the post editor, add the @ sign and type the title of a post you've published on your website. Mentionable will automatically suggest posts you can link to.

Then just select the post and press Enter on your keyboard. Mentionable will add the link to the post and use the post title as the anchor text.

This should definitely make internal linking easier for you and help you with on-page SEO .

That's it. We hope this article helped you add Facebook style autofill feature for post links in WordPress. You may also be interested in our tutorial on how to embed Facebook status posts in WordPress .
