Modern industry is characterized by the terms digitization , Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT). Software has long represented a decisive competitive advantage for companies in the digital age . The increasing complexity of production processes has led to human-machine interfaces (HMI) playing an increasingly important role. But what exactly is behind HMI and how can companies benefit from its use?
definition
HMI stands for human-machine interface, which can be translated as human-machine laos gambling data interface or user interface. The simplest example of an HMI is a light switch. The switch itself belongs neither to the person nor to the machine, but enables the person to switch the machine (the lamp) on or off.
Today, when we talk about HMIs, we usually mean software that enables communication with machines, computers or other technical systems. The machines can be operated intuitively via a graphical user interface and the user can see all relevant data in real time at any time.
There are different types of HMI in the industrial sector. In addition to individual monitors that are directly connected to the corresponding machines or touch screens, modern applications can also be used on a tablet, which makes use much more flexible. Web-based HMIs also make it possible to access the software at any time and from anywhere with an internet connection.
