Two months ago, on April 25, 2019, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a new law on language in Ukraine , which caused quite a stir among web developers and owners of some websites.

Let's figure out how the "Language Law" affects online business, what pros and cons this innovation will bring, and who should really think about translating their website into Ukrainian.

What is the law on the Ukrainian language?

The "Law on Language" was adopted just two months ago, and at the moment no one can say exactly how it will manifest itself in practice and how it will affect websites that have not yet acquired a Ukrainian version.

It is also unknown whether this law will be relevant for the new government.

Nevertheless, we recommend that you familiarize cameroon number dataset with its provisions, as what may initially seem like a nightmare for the site owner may bring him many significant benefits in the future.

But about the benefits later.

For now, let's take a look at the text of the 2019 "language law" .

You can find all the basic norms in two articles (27 and 30) of the project "State language in the field of user interfaces of computer programs and websites."

We will not burden you with excerpts from this project, we will simply try to summarize its main provisions.

According to Article 27, all websites, as well as official pages of companies on social networks that sell goods or offer any services in Ukraine, must be in Ukrainian. This does not mean that you need to abandon other language versions of the site: the Ukrainian version of the site must be the main one and be the same in terms of information as other existing versions. In addition, the page in Ukrainian must be loaded by default.
Also, this article applies not only to companies from our country, but also to those foreign companies that offer their services and sell goods in Ukraine. In this case, the Ukrainian version should also be downloaded by default.

Article 30 emphasizes to website owners that the process of servicing your customers, as well as any information about goods and services, must be in Ukrainian.

Any advertising, for example, email or SMS-mailing of letters, must also be carried out in the state language. Nevertheless, although all entrepreneurs were obliged to conduct e-mail and SMS-mailing in Ukrainian, on the Internet, when placing advertisements or commercial offers, you can still use any language convenient for you.
