The association actually has every reason to thank Blocher. not exist. It was founded with the sole aim of combating the former Federal Council's "local newspaper empire". This is not a theory, as is freely admitted on the website. It states: "If a significant part of the media is dominated (sic!) by a single owner, this means (sic!) a reduction in media diversity."
The fact that the weekly saudi arabia rcs data newspapers in question already belonged to a single owner, Zehnder Verlag, apparently plays no role.
This example shows what the association specifically means by preserving media diversity: It sells a mailbox sticker with the inscription "Please no Winterthurer Zeitung". Presumably so that there is more space in the mailbox for the countless other local and regional independent media.
