The General Data Protection Regulation is the European regulation on data protection and privacy management that will come into force from 25 May 2018: it is a considerable change in cybersecurity aimed at further protecting the personal data of European citizens.

Since this is a European regulation, it will be implemented in our country in a mandatory manner and without any adjustments by our legislators: each European State will have to adapt to establish a company responsible for verifying the application of the legislation and the corrective measures to be observed in the event of any violations.

With the GDPR we arrive at a new piece of European legislation on data processing.

The regulation - which will become effective on May 25 of this year without any possibility of delay, being an implementation without the need for adaptation - aims to offer new ways of protection to European citizens who give their personal data to third parties, and will make data processing activities in the various Member States more uniform.
