The camera. the microphone. the pen. create a kind of distance. When a mother loses her son. a daughter loses her father. I think above all of noting what the person says. the features of their face. the way they say it. the context. You belong to the “Mosul generation”. after the “Sarajevo generation” and the “Arab Spring generation”. How did the battle of Mosul affect you? This was my first field experience. in 2015: the war against Daesh in Iraq. and fairly quickly the battle of Mosul.
