Post by asimd23 »

The consumer organization Facua warned in a statement that a Facebook application called "Do you know yourself? Compare your intelligence level with your friends" is actually a mobile content fraud.

The application requires users to register in a system to receive the results, which means that the user is hooked into a chain of messages that cost 34.8 cents.

The service is hosted on the portal bc data singapore spaintone , which has been reported by Facua to the State Secretariat for Telecommunications, which is part of the Ministry of Industry. Internet operator AOL wants to become the largest provider of content on the Internet within two years. "There will be a big business in the future when it comes to content, and we want AOL to be at the centre of it," AOL's chairman Tim Armstrong told the Financial Times .

AOL is expected to be spun off from Time Warner at the end of 2009, so the internet operator has to make plans for the future. Armstrong has conducted a thorough strategic review of the company and has concluded that it needs to develop niche offerings and video content production.

Advertising.com (Platform A) will also be involved in local advertising. The internet connection business will also be strengthened. AOL is losing hundreds of thousands of subscribers every quarter, according to the Financial Times .
