T2, a Russian mobile operator, has launched Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology in the Volgograd region using solutions from Russian developer NTC Protey. The service allows making calls on the 4G network without interrupting the Internet session, and also provides instant connection with the interlocutor and high-quality speech transmission.
in the Volgograd region. This year, the operator has upgraded more than 10% of base stations, implemented the refarming procedure in large cities, and then deployed VoLTE technology in the region. During November, the company's specialists consistently opened access to the service to various groups of clients and tested the correct operation of the technology and tariffs. Now more than half of T2 subscribers are already using the service, and voice traffic in denmark telegram the 4G network makes up 46% of all calls in the region.
During the connection process, the operator closely cooperated with the Scientific and Technical Center "Protey", which has been developing and producing software and hardware products for the telecommunications and integrated security sectors for over 20 years. The partnership allowed the implementation of Voice over LTE using components from a domestic manufacturer.
VoLTE technology allows making voice calls over a 4G network in high quality, minimizing the risk of a call being dropped and ensuring an instant connection with the other party. The call is charged as regular voice traffic and does not consume the Internet package included in the tariff. The technology also saves the phone's battery life: the smartphone does not switch to 2G/3G standards, which allows the battery to be consumed more slowly. Another important advantage of the service is the ability to save the current Internet session while receiving a call.
"The technical management of T2 is constantly working to improve the network infrastructure in the Volgograd region. We are improving capacity and expanding coverage, upgrading equipment and introducing new services. The launch of VoLTE in the region has become a logical step in the development of the network and improving the quality of communication for our customers. Already now, the company's subscribers can feel all the advantages of using the technology: instant connection with the interlocutor, crystal-clear voice quality and the absence of extraneous noise, as well as the ability to use mobile Internet during a conversation," said Yevgeny Bryuzgin, director of the Volgograd branch of T2.
The service is available to all T2 customers in the Volgograd region whose devices support VoLTE, and in some cases is enabled automatically. If this does not happen, you must manually activate the option in the mobile communications and SIM card management section.
