It will have a new orbit that allows 100% observation of the territory of Russia, which is also very important. This will be a permanent laboratory for testing all technical and technological innovations," Yuri Borisov emphasized.
In 2021, Roscosmos announced that the ROS would be fundamentally different from the International Space Station (ISS): "The first and perhaps most important thing is the so-called tilt, that is, how far the station's orbit is from the equator. The ISS has a tilt of almost 52 degrees. We plan that our future national station will reach 97 degrees. It will be located in the so-called high-latitude orbit. In addition, unlike the ISS, which sees 20% of Russia's territory, it will have a 100% view of our country. And most importantly, such a tilt provides more opportunities to study deep space."
