Severgroup holding CEO Alexey Mordashov stated from the plenary session of the CIPR 2024 exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod that Russia still does not have a domestic ERP system that can satisfy demanding corporate clients. As Alexey Mordashov said, Severstal has agreed with Sibur on the joint creation of a Russian analogue of SAP. "We see the creation of a consortium for this purpose. The required investment volume for this work is about $1 billion for five years," Alexey Mordashov said, asking the Russian government for partial financial support for this project.
told a ComNews correspondent: "We latvia whatsapp number database started working on the project together with Severstal shortly before CIPR. We are currently at the pre-project stage - designing business processes. When we move on to the stage of choosing a solution and assessing the cost of implementation, then we will have more accurate figures on the budget. We will try to unite in a consortium. This option is cheaper. This way we will be able to agree on co-financing so that the project does not turn out to be too expensive for each individual company."
A representative of the press service of PAO Severstal confirmed the desire to assemble a consortium and made an assumption regarding the financing of the project: "We expect to assemble an industrial consortium consisting of a small number of players that could, within a four- to five-year horizon, offer solutions to replace SAP that would take into account both the performance requirements of solutions of this class and the industrial specifics. In terms of investments, at the moment we can say that these are amounts measured in tens of billions of rubles. The remaining details are in the process of analysis and negotiations."
A source at Sibur told a ComNews correspondent that Severstal and Sibur have reached preliminary agreements and detailed discussions of the initiative to jointly create an ERP system are still to come. A source close to Sibur suggested that the companies could take the path of creating an ERP from ready-made modules from other developers.
The importance of replacing the ERP system with a domestic product was confirmed at CIPR 2024 by Oleg Shiryaev, CEO of JSC MCC EuroChem and Chairman of the ICC Chemistry. According to him, EuroChem still uses SAP, since the company's top-priority import substitution projects in IT are those related to critical production processes and safety.
Continues to use SAP and KAMAZ: General Director of PJSC KAMAZ and Chairman of the ICC "Automobile Engineering" Sergey Kogogin said that upgrading 1C to suit the tasks of his enterprise's complex processes costs a lot of money, since there are only a few such companies in the country.
Vladimir Potanin, President and Chairman of the Board of PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel, even suggested that the government allow companies that own critical information infrastructure (CII) facilities to calmly depreciate SAP and other foreign solutions if these companies can prove that they can be used safely.
