How to Implement Cookie Plugins and Maximize Registered Traffic

Post by jrineakter01 »

I recently talked to you about the impact of the consent mode on marketing and campaign optimization. Being something that was launched by “Saint Google,” we will have no choice but to work to maximize measurement and continue with our work.

That's why I've started researching different options for implementing cookie plugins and trying to maximize the registered traffic.

I think that those who really want to block cookies and have private browsing are few (and they already have it set this way in their browser). The rest (the majority) either don't care or block usa phone numbers list
them on certain sites. But the normal reaction to the cookie notice is, " how do I remove it so I can read the content? "

The levers we have to achieve this are:

Design and position of the popup or notice.
Writing a persuasive text to encourage acceptance of cookies.
Users you show it to (there are different laws depending on the region).
Compliance: The European Union is where the laws are strictest. There are options that allow you to slightly improve the percentage of registered traffic.

Make sure that the consent popup is clearly visible and easy to understand. Use simple language that explains what cookies are, why you are using them, and how they benefit the user. A clear and direct message can help users understand the importance of their consent and therefore increase the consent rate.

Consent Options
Provide clear options to accept or reject cookies. An intuitive design that makes acceptance easy can increase the consent rate.

Persistence
Make sure the popup remains visible until the user takes action. This can help ensure that a higher proportion of traffic is recorded, as users will not be able to ignore the request for consent.

Regions and Cookie Compliance
European Union – GDPR – Cookies
In the EU, it is mandatory to obtain explicit consent before activating any cookies that are not strictly necessary. So we must select the Opt-In option, where cookies are disabled by default until the user accepts them.

Implicit and Explicit Consent
For me, this is the part of the regulation that should be changed. Currently, the law in the EU says that there must be explicit consent, but in my opinion, if the user browses the web normally, he is accepting the tacit exchange of content for cookies. That is, you read my content for free and in exchange you allow me to measure your interactions with the page (because, yes, brands publish content to create a relationship that leads to a sale).

Another thing is the abusive use of this permission with aggressive advertising campaigns (this could be limited by advertising tools). But what about the very high percentage of websites that do not do any paid advertising?

Implied Consent
This approach, where continued use of the website is interpreted as acceptance of cookies, is not permitted in the EU under the GDPR. However, it may be applicable in other regions with less stringent regulations. It is important to assess the validity of this approach based on the geographic location of your users.

Explicit Consent
This is the preferred method and is required in many jurisdictions, including the EU. It requires users to take a specific action (such as clicking a button) to accept cookies. This method is more transparent and better respects user privacy.

Strategies to Maximize Cookie Consent
Communicate the benefits of accepting cookies for the user
Clearly explain the benefits of accepting cookies, such as a personalized browsing experience and recommendations. Users are more likely to accept cookies when they understand how it benefits them.

I have posted an explanatory and friendly message (or at least, that's what I tried to do!).

Pop up design
Use eye-catching colors and designs that are not intrusive. An attractive design can increase acceptance rates.

I started by putting it in the center of the screen, in black, with the blue buttons. Too much!

Best Tools and Plugins for Cookie Management
1. Cookiebot
This is the option I use on my website. It is the one recommended to me by digital analytics specialists (and of course I have it implemented via GTM).

It is easy to set up, it allows you several design options, it makes the regulations clear, it allows you to choose the countries in which to display the notice… the only thing that seems excessive to me is the price. Not because it is high, but because for the functionalities it has, +20€/month seems excessive to me. They take advantage of the fact that it is mandatory.
